HSBC has been revamping and expanding its credit card portfolio in India, bringing a new breath to the travel and premium card segment. This includes the introduction of the new and improved Live+ Card and the launch of the premium HSBC Taj Credit Card. Now, HSBC has introduced a new travel-focused HSBC TravelOne Credit Card, which has already been quite successful in Singapore and Malaysia and will now be available in India. The HSBC TravelOne Credit Card requires a joining fee and an annual charge of ₹4,999 + GST (costing ₹5,898). It offers 4 Reward Points for every ₹100 spent on travel, including flights and international transactions. With easy and fast redemption options across multiple hotel and airline partners and a conversion ratio of 1:1, the card provides a strong reward rate of 4% for domestic travel transactions. However, it is important to note that the card carries a Forex charge of 3.5% for international transactions, which can significantly impact the overall rewards earned on such spending. All other eligible spends shall be awarded 4 Reward Points for every ₹100 spent. While the accelerated Reward Points earned for travel and international spending are capped at 50,000, there is no cap on Rewards for other spending with the base reward rate. Apart from a high reward rate for travel and other categories, this card also offers several travel and lifestyle-related perks such as complimentary airport lounge access, insurance benefits, recurring discounts on popular platforms, movie/dining offers, and more. Card Insider shall cover all these benefits along with all other vital aspects of this card in this detailed review of the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card.
